How to print a return shipping label on a 4×6 thermal printer

Printing guide

Return labels are made for people without a label printer: a full page with the label in one part and instructions, a QR code or a receipt elsewhere. Some PDFs put the instructions on the first page and the label on the second.

Find the actual label

The shipping label is the part with the large barcode and the destination address. Other barcodes on the page, such as an order or RMA number, are usually smaller. Check every page of the PDF; the label isn't always on page 1.

Print it at 4×6

  1. Crop to just the label, keeping the whole barcode and a little white space around it.
  2. Rotate it upright if it's sideways.
  3. Print on 4×6 paper at 100% scale.

Some returns only give you a QR code to show at a drop-off point. That isn't a label to print; show it on your phone instead.

With Label Magic

Open the return PDF. Label Magic finds the label even when it shares the page with instructions, and shows each page so you can pick the one with the label.

Skip the manual steps. Label Magic finds the label, crops and rotates it, and prints an exact 4×6 at your printer's resolution. Your first 10 labels are free.
