How to print an eBay shipping label on a 4×6 thermal printer from a Mac

Printing guide

A 4×6 thermal printer, such as a MUNBYN, Rollo or Zebra, is the fastest way to print eBay labels, but only if the label reaches the printer as 4×6. Here's how to get there on a Mac.

Option 1: download it as 4×6

When you buy a label on eBay's website, look for the label format or printer setting on the label page and choose the 4×6 thermal option before you download. Labels bought in the eBay app, and some return labels, may still come as a full letter-size page.

Option 2: print a full-page label correctly

  1. Open the PDF in Preview and crop it to just the label. Rotate it if it's sideways.
  2. Choose File > Print, select your thermal printer, and pick a 4×6 in paper size.
  3. Set scale to 100%, not “Scale to Fit”, and print.

If the label still prints small or blurry, see why labels print too small.

Option 3: let Label Magic do it

Drag the PDF onto Label Magic, or keep your Downloads folder in its sidebar so each new label is a click away. It finds the label, crops and rotates it, and prints an exact 4×6 at your printer's resolution. It remembers your label printer too, so you're not switching away from your everyday printer each time.

Skip the manual steps. Label Magic finds the label, crops and rotates it, and prints an exact 4×6 at your printer's resolution. Your first 10 labels are free.
